DHR Face Winton Challenge

Only days out from Dark Horse Racing’s first visit to the coveted Winton circuit, the team are feeling the excitement build.
Winton will see DHR’s driver Ash Miller pair up with Spartan Motor Sport’s Geoff Marsh for a two-driver assault on round 2 of the CUE One Hour Endurance series.
But how are the drivers feeling about their maiden trip to Winton?
“I’ve managed to cover some laps on the laptop, so I’m confident I know where the track goes at least,” Miller says.
“It’s a very different track from Eastern Creek – there are a lot of technical parts that make up the lap, and to get one wrong means a lap time is spoiled. Eastern Creek was fairly forgiving on mistakes, as the wide track and open corners gave you a bit of grace, but Winton is a different beast. It’ll be a challenge to really get the most out of the car’s handling strengths over the point-and-shoot cars like the Ford GT and Lamborghini.”

Spartan Motor Sport's Geoff Marsh will bolster the DHR line-up
Co-driver Marsh is equally as excited about the challenge.
“It’s on like Donkey Kong,” Marsh grins.
“I’m really excitedto be getting the chance to jump in the DHR machine for the weekend, and I’m eager to build on the team’s great results. I’ll be learning a new track and a new car during practice, so I’ll be doing my best to get on the pace as quickly as I can.”
DHR are leading the way for Class E, and are currently sitting 3rd overall for the series – no mean feat considering the machinery the plucky MX5 is sharing the tarmac with.
“It’s going to be something different - I’ve never done a One Hour with a co-driver before, so it’ll be a real team effort to get the car home on the top step once again,” Miller says.
