DHR: Lessons learned for E.C. assault
by Ash on May.17, 2011, under Preview, Updates
With the dust having settled on a feverish first run for the #94 at the famed Bathurst circuit, the team have gone back to the drawing board to ensure that the yellow Elise is fighting fit for the upcoming round at Sydney’s Eastern Creek raceway.
Round two of the Championship will see drivers John Prefontaine and Ash Miller battle to regain lost ground after their titanic effort in Bathurst, but moods are decidedly positive.
“The car’s been looked over, with no stone unturned to make sure the reliability issues we faced at Bathurst won’t be repeated,” Prefontaine said.
“We’re out there to give the guys a big shake up, and we’re much better prepared for Eastern Creek.”
With the pace from the Elise looking promising right from the outset, DHR’s second outing of 2011 is tipped to reap the rewards offered from early season promise.
“Alot of work and alot of time has gone into this car – the team are committed to making sure that every bit of potential is tapped into on this car,” Miller said.
“It’s just the tip of the competitive iceberg, there’s so much pace in this car, and to be so quick out of the box was exciting.”
Eastern Creek is located roughly half an hour outside Sydney’s bustling metropolis, and stakes it’s claim as one of the only truly international circuits on the Australian calendar, hosting everything from A1GP to V8 Supercars in its history.
2010 saw Miller strike the first blow on what became an unbeaten run to the Class E championship; so, with the team starting off in a slightly tougher spot, how is the mood?
“Eternally positive, and always pushing,” Miller said.
“We’re not far behind on points, so it’s just a case of making sure everything is in place to prepare properly.”
DHR will be on track from Friday 27th May; keep posted on the latest here.
